Business Litigation

Many business disputes can arise during a company’s normal operations.  Every company should have a trusted lawyer, who knows its business and is familiar with the industry, to provide guidance and representation.

The more we know about a client’s business, and the longer we have been working together, the better the firm is able to put itself in the client’s shoes.  The law firm will always have an opinion and offer advice about what to do and how to do it.  However, it is the client who makes the decisions about legal strategy.

The firm’s trial attorneys, based in Encino, California, represent individuals and corporations in a variety of business disputes.  The firm’s lawyers are experienced advocates who provide vigorous representation to protect our client’s interests.  We have successfully represented businesses and individuals, both as plaintiffs and defendants, in a wide range of disputes.

Business disputes run the gamut and might include: responding to demands for payment, litigating a breach of contract, assisting with a troublesome warranty claim, negotiating a loan extension, advising about disputes with former or current employees, resolving unpaid debts and promissory notes, releasing a mechanics lien, handling a wage/hour claim, attending to a bankruptcy file, extending the statute of limitations, obtaining payment on an insurance claim, monitoring outside litigation, conducting investigation, prosecuting business fraud or alter ego liability, finding specialist lawyers or experts, coordinating out-of-state litigation, reviewing non-compete provisions, defending against claims of negligence, providing advice on the impact of changes to federal and state law and so forth.

Most of these situations can be and should be resolved without litigation, via an exchange of emails or letters, followed by a phone call.  A trusted business attorney, experienced with the client and its business, will be persuasive and better able to resolve the issue with minimal time and expense.

Should the dispute go to court, mediation or arbitration, the client knows that its business trial attorney will loyally and persuasively represent its interests, providing top-quality legal work at fair rates.
