Experience

 

Theresa Brennan is a California attorney, admitted to the practice of law since 1995.  Ms. Brennan has been with the firm since 2017 and is a savvy litigator.

 

Ms. Brennan’s chief expertise is in general business and civil litigation.  She has significant experience in all aspects of litigation practice, including the preparation of pleadings, motion practice and discovery.  She has prepared and argued all kinds of motions, including motions for summary judgment.  She has taken and defended depositions.

 

In a recent business litigation dispute between competitors, her creative legal analysis identified the basis for a cross-complaint under the Business and Professions Code.  This cross-complaint created significant leverage in the case against the plaintiff, which led to an advantageous settlement.

 

Ms. Brennan has provided extensive assistance in all aspects of trial preparation, including making strategic and tactical decisions, writing trial briefs, drafting questions for cross-examination, motions in limine, and completing many other tasks necessary to prepare for trial. 

 

In a recent case, she second chaired a trial victory securing our client a judgment of almost $580,000.  Following the trial, she obtained an ex parte order modifying the judgment to include additional debtor names.  She also conducted a highly technical judgment debtor examination of a trustee who held funds in trust for the benefit of the judgment debtor. 

 

Ms. Brennan is an experienced counsellor, regularly providing knowledgeable and objective advice.  She pays strict attention to detail, quickly understands difficult legal concepts and writes very well.  She considers how evidence will be portrayed at trial.  She works very hard to provide excellent representation to the firm’s clients.
